Ceka MED Hydrocolloid Wound Dressing Extra Thin consists of a semi-permeable polyurethane film coated with hydrocolloid containing carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) as the main absorbent and gelling agent. The hydrocolloid dressing is permeable to water vapor but impermeable to exudate and microorganisms. In the presence of exudate, the CMC absorbs fluid and swells to form a cohesive gel that does not dissolve and leaves no residue in the wound bed.
The dressing is specially designed to create a moist wound environment that promotes healing and minimizes the risk of infection. The special dressing composition reduces the risk of damage to healthy skin around the wound. Additionally, it is easy to apply and remove without damaging the wound, ensuring painless application and removal.
The extra thin hydrocolloid dressing offers additional flexibility while simultaneously protecting against wound contamination. The dressing adapts flexibly to body contours and provides optimal wearing comfort.
The hydrocolloid dressing can be used to treat wounds with low to moderate exudation, such as:
It can also be used to rehydrate necrotic tissue, which is then removed by autolysis.
We recommend not to use hydrocolloid dressings on exposed muscle or bone or on patients who are known to be sensitive to any of the ingredients. Our product is not the product of choice for use on very heavily exuding wounds, at least in the initial stages of treatment, as the dressing would need to be changed too frequently. Also not to be used on infected wounds.
